Discovering the Outdoors in Ligonier, P.A.
Although I live in the city I have spent a lot of time out in Ligonier, P.A. My mother used to have a cabin in the woods there and I went there on weekends. As a child I would go to Idlewild park and go on the water slides, roller coaster rides and enjoy story book forest. It was a stopping off point if we were going skiing at Seven Springs, or Hidden Valley Ski resorts. The Laurel Mountains are really beautiful especially during the winter and a good place to roam in the summer. Fort Ligonier is a historic site there that was a British fort during the French and Indian war. The neat stores in "the Diamond" as they call it in the center of town are a blast to visit. I stayed there for a week this summer and got to tour some places. I also went to the Living Treasures Animal Park as well. I was doing some photography on the trip and I liked it so much that I decided to come back to capture more sites that are not as well known and may not be seen as much. Fortunately, no one kicked me off of their farm, or chased me off of their property. I also did not get mauled by any wild life, thank goodness. Unfortunately, one of my lenses got broken on the trip when my camera flipped off of my tripod and landed face first on the ground. I also lost a lens filter that fell off of a bridge and into the water below. Sacrifices are made for art.
Thanks for checking out my new crop. It was a wonderful experience and it's what keeps me happy and sane. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them. Always respect wild life and domestic animals and don't interfere with their way of life.
